The Eye Behind the Cross Photos: Renee Calaway

There is a lot of talent among the WCA riders and Renee Calaway is a great example. Her photos of the recent cyclocross season have graced this website and her own for two years. Calaway's cyclocross photo website started two years ago by accident. She was psyched up to race cross for the first time and was practicing regularly. Right before the first race of the season, Calaway sprained her knee and was unable to do any of the races. Since her husband was still going to the races she went along with her camera and took some photos. "I placed the photos on the web and told people I knew who were in the photos to check it out and pass along the web address to any of their friends in the photos. It snowballed from there and people started to request to be included in the website. Next thing I know I'm taking photos of everyone, regardless of whether I know them or not! It's fun taking photos as I enjoy racing cross and want more people to give it a try. And this year it's given me a reason to use the new video camera I bought." Thanks, Renee for your good work.
